User role definitions
Roles control what a user can see and do in the Global Commerce user interface.

The following table outlines the roles you can assign to Global Commerce users. When using this table, not the following:
- You set a role at the site or company level. The level determines whether you perform the tasks just for the selected site or for all sites within a company.
- The menu paths will help you identify how to find those features and pages where you can perform the actions the role allows you to do.

Catalog Manager | Company |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to access the catalog, including product features, categories, subscriptions, and tags. The user can also preview sites.

Checkout Flow Manager | Site |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to configure the site checkout flow and lock or unlock Store Builder features. Note: To edit the Checkout settings, you also need the Template Designer role. Path: Administration > Site > Configure Site Settings. Select the Checkout tab, then scroll to the Flow area. |
Client Credit Plus Manager | Site |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to manage Client Credit Plus accounts (create, apply payments, set limits, and so on) and edit the Payment Method settings. Digital River internally refers to this role as lineOfCreditManager. Paths:

Customer Service Configuration Manager | Site |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to configure customer service settings, including reason codes and approval levels for returns, refunds, and replacements. Path: Administration > Site > Configure Customer Service Settings |
Customer Service Representative (CSR) | Company |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to access most Customer Service features, including order lookup, refunds, returns, etc. Digital River internally refers to this role as customerServiceRep. Path: Customer Service |
Customer Service Supervisor (CSS)3 | Company |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to use all Customer Service features, including the ability to override site settings for Customer Service features. CSR and CSS roles have similar privileges and system access. However, the CSS role has higher rights to perform certain actions. Example: A CSS can refund the total amount for an order, while a CSR cannot. When assigning roles to users, you only need to assign one of the Customer Service roles. Path: Customer Service |

Merchandising Deployment Manager | Site |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to deploy offers for a site. Path: Marketing > Offers and Programs |
Merchandising Discount Manager | Site |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to set the discount amount or percentage in marketing offers. Merchandising Discount Managers cannot create new offers; they can update the discount for an existing offer. To create an offer, you need the Merchandising Manager role. Merchandising Manager | Site |
This Global Commerce user role allows users to create and manage marketing offers, tracking programs, and storefront links. The position also lets users import and export offers and preview the store. However the user cannot set the discount or pricing for an offer.
