Managing price lists

Use the Price Lists page to manage price lists for your store. The system uses the price lists to set pricing for products in a catalog. Because sites have a default catalog and you assign price lists to the catalog, the pricing you set in a price list applies to a specific site. Note that if your company has multiple sites, you can set those sites to use the same default catalog so you can share a price list among two or more sites.

Price lists do not contain variations. The price list only shows the base product. To set pricing for variations, you must view the base product and then edit each variation and set pricing there.

When you set pricing for products in your price list, set a price of zero. You can use the zero price for promotional or giveaway products. See Pricing for more information.

Stores can show only one price for a product on the Product Detail page. The only exception occurs when you associate the product with a promotion or offer that discounts the price (and you set up strikethrough pricing for the site) or when you set up a Private Store to show both the base price and the Private Store price. In both cases, the original (or base) price appears with the promotional or Private Store price.

By default, the price list only shows those products associated with a catalog and the Active state. However, you can use the Search and Filters tab to change the price lists that appear in the price list. See How to search and filter the Products list for more information.
