Editing a catalog

The Edit Catalog page allows you to modify a catalog.

Edit Catalog attributes

Attribute Description
Name

The name used to identify the catalog within Global Commerce. Shoppers will not see this name in your store.

Display Name

The name of the catalog. Depending on the design of your store, this name may or may not appear to shoppers.

Options

Choose one or both of the following options:

  • Display Catalog—Indicates that shoppers can see the catalog in your store.
  • Publish Catalog—Indicates if the catalog is available for all sites/stores in your company.
Editing Locale The catalog locale you are currently editing.
Supported Locales The supported locales for the catalog.
Short Description A brief description of your catalog. Depending on the design of your store, this description may or may not appear to shoppers.
Long Description A longer description of the catalog. Depending on the design in your store, this description may or may not appear.

How to edit a catalog

  1. Select Catalog, select Catalogs and Categories, and click Manage Catalogs. The Catalogs page appears.
  2. Click the name of the catalog you want to edit under the Name column of the Catalogs list. The Edit Catalog page appears.
  3. Select the locale you want to edit from the Editing Locale list.
  4. Select or remove locales from the Supported Locales list as needed.
  5. Edit the rest of the catalog details as needed. See Managing catalogs for more information on the settings.
  6. Click Save.

How to enable enhanced search

To use synonyms, search attributes, sponsored search, and faceted search, you must enable enhanced search for the catalog.

Required Role: You need Catalog ManagerClosed This Global Commerce user role allows users to access the catalog, including product features, categories, subscriptions, and tags. The user can also preview sites. to access the Edit Catalog page and Search Manager to see the Enable Enhanced Search checkbox. Note that the Search Manager role is internal only, so only Digital River can enable enhanced search for a catalog.

  1. Select Catalog, select Catalogs and Categories, and click Manage Catalogs. The Catalogs page appears.
  2. Click the name of the catalog you want to edit under the Name column of the Catalogs list. The Edit Catalog page appears.
  3. Select the locale you want to edit from the Editing Locale list.
  4. Select the Enable Enhanced Search checkbox.
  5. Click Save.
