Product Options

Use the Product Options step to enable the product and fulfillment options for the product. These options determine how the product appears in your store.

Note: The options you see on the Product Options page depends on the product template defined for your company. See Product Setup for more information on product templates.

Adding or enabling a product option varies depending on whether you are creating the product or editing an existing product.

  • When you create a product, you enable the options you want the product to have in the Product Options step of the Product Setup wizard. You define the specifics for these options in the Product Settings step of the Product Setup wizard.
  • When you edit a product, the Edit Product page shows you the settings that you enabled for a product and provides an Add/Remove Settings link where you can add or remove options as needed.

The fulfillment options determine how you deliver the product to the customer.

Note: You can select multiple fulfillment options if you create a product with variations. (Checkboxes instead of option buttons appear next to each fulfillment type.) If you select multiple fulfillment options, you must create a product variation for each.

The options that appear under the Product Options depend on your company's Product Template. The Product Template defines the settings, attributes, locales, tax categories, and platform options that appear when you create or edit a product. The Store Operations team configures the Product Template at the company level so that you can use the setup for all the sites or stores within your company. See Product Setup for more information.

Some of the Product Options define the type of product while other options control where or when you can sell the product, how you price and fulfill the product, and so on.

Example: The type of product could be a software product or a physical product.

Product Option attributes

If your company created Custom attribute families, then they will appear here. You will configure the attributes for these attributes in the Product Settings step. See Product Settings for more information.
