Configuring search attributes
You can configure how you want the system to treat your custom product attributes and common product attributes when a shopper searches your store. You can choose the attributes that appear when a shopper performs a search, and allow the shopper to use these attributes when filtering, sorting, and faceted searches.
Note: You should configure your search attributes before you configure your faceted search.
The system provides some configured product attributes by default when you enable the enhanced search. See Default product attributes for more information.
Note: You set enhanced search at the catalog level. When you enable enhanced search, you enable enhanced search for all of the catalogs used on your site, and you can configure product attributes.

The following table shows the default product attributes for the enhanced search. You can customize these product attributes. How to configure search attributes for more information.
