Importing and exporting volume license plans
Use the Volume License Plans Import and Export page to change volume license plans for your site. You can export volume license plans, edit the information in the spreadsheet, and then import the changes into Global Commerce.
Note: You can only export volume license plans that have a Design or Active status.
How to export a volume license plan
When you export a plan, the system saves all information on the plan to the spreadsheet. This includes the plan products, tiers, and pricing.
Note: The system does not export retired products.
Required Role: Pricing Manager This Global Commerce user role allows users to create and edit price lists and volume license plans.
- Select Catalog menu, select Pricing, and then click Import & Export Volume License Plans. The Volume License Plans Import and Export page appears.
- Under Export Volume License Plan, select the plan you want to export from the Volume License Plan list.
- Click Export. The export begins. When prompted, save the file on your computer. To learn more about editing the plan information, see How to edit a volume license plan.
How to edit a volume license plan
When you export a volume license plan, the system saves the plan information to a spreadsheet that you can edit and import back into the system.
The following list outlines what you can and cannot do with volume license plans using the Import and Export tool and spreadsheet:
- You cannot edit the Product Name and Points for products in the plan. If you need to change this information, see Importing and exporting products.
- You cannot delete variations from a plan in the spreadsheet. To delete a variation, you must delete the base product in the spreadsheet, or delete the variation through Global Commerce.
- You cannot view retired products for the plan in the exported spreadsheet. You can view all products in the plan in from Global Commerce.
- The system only downloads Exact Price pricing (the Conversion Rate) to the spreadsheet. You can only edit fixed and floating conversion rates from Global Commerce.
- The spreadsheet does not allow duplicate products. If the system finds two or more instances of a product in the spreadsheet during import, the system will not update the product in the plan. The system, however, imports the rest of the spreadsheet and updates the plan.
-
A product can be associated with more than one volume license plan at a time, as long as the product is not in the same locale or uses the same currency in more than one plan.
Example: If you have two volume license plans, the same product can be in both plans if the currency and locale for the products are different between the two volume license plans. If the system finds a product in another volume license plan with the same currency and locale during import, the system will skip the product and notify you when the import completes.
- You must configure Points for the product from the Volume License Pricing Details page before you can add it to a plan. If you are adding products to a plan for the first time, make sure you set up the Points value for the product. See How to enable a product for volume license plan for more information.
